Henrietta Stuart

Henrietta Stuart was born in London in 1965 and she studied Fine Art at Newcastle-upon-Tyne University.  In 1984 she won the John Christie Prize for Art and in 1988 she won the John Christie Prize for Painting.

Henrietta now lives and works in France painting abstracts, mainly landscapes, in oil on canvas based on things she has seen.  She paints in thin layers, laying paint over paint to exploit the transparency, a technique that Turner and Titian were both masters.
